In a couple of hours, we’ll be ringing in the New Year.
If you happened to read yesterday’s post, you know 2016 was a bad year for me. So I’m anxious for 2017 to get here because I’m ready for a fresh start.
Last year, I wasn’t able to complete all my goals, so this year I’m hoping I can accomplish them.
So what goals do I have for 2017?
Complete all my unfinished projects
This is a huge problem I have as a writer. I’ll begin writing a story when I have a new idea, then about halfway through I’ll stop. The reason I stop is due to two reasons.
- I get a case of writer’s block and don’t know how to finish the story.
- Life gets in the way and I tuck the book on the backburner.
I have several stories that need to be completed, including a paranormal romance, an alien story, and two crime stories.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to complete all of them this year, but if I can just finish one, I’ll be a happy woman.
Republish Westmore 2
In 2016, I republished Westmore volume 1, complete with a new cover and a polished manuscript. I’m planning to do the same process to the other volumes of Westmore. I plan to get started on editing volume 2 and brainstorm ideas for the cover. I’m aiming to release the newly polished version sometime in the fall or winter.
Publish Westmore 7 & 8
It feels like I’ve been sitting on Westmore 7 for a while now. As I mentioned earlier, life got in the way causing me to put the book aside. I finished the story, now I just need to edit the manuscript and come up with a cover. I hoping I can publish volume 7 in 2017. As for Westmore 8, I’m almost finished writing the story, then I plan to move on to editing. Don’t know if I’ll be able to publish volume 8 this year, but maybe sometime in 2018 will do.
Begin working on one of my new story ideas
I’ve got a notebook full of ideas that I’ve been itching to get started on. I know it sounds crazy to start on a new book when I have so many to finish. Yet, as long as I keep organized I feel I can handle adding one more story to my arsenal.
Find a good job
Anyone who follows my blog knows I work at home. Don’t get me wrong I love, however sometimes work can be unsteady. I’ve been doing little odd jobs such as freelance tasks and direct sales, now I’m broadening my horizons.
In the coming year, I hope to find a job either as a chat agent or in customer service.
Wish me luck in my job search.
This is one of the number problems I have. When I’m supposed to be working, I’m goofing off. Then before I know it, time has passed and I haven’t done anything.
This year I’m going to make it a priority to stop procrastinating, although it’s going to be hard to resist reading celebrity gossip or playing the next level in Candy Crush. But those will have to wait until I finish work.
So to all my followers, I want to wish you all a Happy New Year filled with positivity. Good luck to you all in accomplishing your goals.
